The Leader’s P.R.I.C.E.: Transforming Leadership Through Human-Centered Engagement
Introduction
Last week, I had the blessed opportunity to travel to Arizona and speak at an event hosted by Rehrig Pacific Company entitled Authentic Engagement. It was an honor to share my life’s journey and my philosophy on human-centered leadership, a leadership style that has shaped my transformation and continues to influence the work I do today.
Leadership is more than just a title—it’s a responsibility. Throughout my life, I’ve encountered leaders who steered me in the wrong direction and, later, those who guided me toward a path of growth, transformation, and purpose. These experiences taught me the undeniable power of leadership and the lasting impact it has on people’s lives.
At Authentic Engagement, I spoke about the importance of leadership in every organization. Across industries, businesses adopt different leadership philosophies, each tailored to their unique challenges and goals. But what remains constant is the fact that leadership, when done right, has the power to elevate people, inspire change, and create lasting impact.
The Power of Leadership: Lessons from My Journey
Leadership is about influence, accountability, and service. Through my lived experiences, years of studying leadership, and now leading my own company, I’ve come to understand that great leaders don’t just manage people; they develop them.
In my past, I was led by individuals who instilled the wrong values in me. But later, I was fortunate enough to be surrounded by mentors and guides who saw something in me that I hadn’t yet recognized in myself. They led with compassion, discipline, and purpose, teaching me that real leadership isn’t about power—it’s about serving others and helping them unlock their full potential.
Today, I dedicate myself to helping others become better leaders, knowing that they, in turn, will change the world for the better. Leadership isn’t reserved for CEOs, executives, or managers—it starts with a mindset. It’s about stepping up, taking responsibility, and creating an environment where others can thrive.
The Leader’s P.R.I.C.E.: A Blueprint for Human-Centered Leadership
Through my journey, I developed a leadership philosophy I now share with organizations and individuals—The Leader’s P.R.I.C.E. This human-centered leadership model isn’t just about being in charge; it’s about prioritizing people, igniting change, and creating a culture of growth and accountability.
The P.R.I.C.E. acronym stands for:
- Purpose – Helping others discover their mission and align their work with meaning.
- Recognition – Reminding people of their worth and celebrating their contributions.
- Inspiration – Inspiring the potential within others, helping them see their greatness.
- Compassion – Meeting people in their struggles, leading with empathy and understanding.
- Education – Equipping people with the knowledge and tools they need for lasting success.
A true leader doesn’t demand authority—they earn it through service. They don’t command respect—they inspire it through action. Leadership, at its core, is about eliciting the internal commitment of others to pursue something greater than themselves.
Bringing Human-Centered Leadership to the Business World
At the Authentic Engagement event, I had the privilege of delivering a keynote that went beyond theory—it was about action. I shared how The Leader’s P.R.I.C.E. has transformed my life and how it can transform organizations by creating more engaged, empowered, and fulfilled employees.
This philosophy, born from my own transformation—which began in solitary confinement—has now become a guiding force in business leadership. I am currently working on my upcoming book, The Leader’s P.R.I.C.E.: A Guide to Human-Centered Leadership, which will serve as the foundation for a full-scale leadership training program.
I’m beyond excited to launch this movement, starting with Rehrig Pacific Company, where I will work closely with their team to implement and refine human-centered leadership principles. This is just the beginning, and I look forward to expanding this work into companies across the world, helping leaders create meaningful, people-first cultures that drive real change.
Leadership is for Everyone: Start Leading Today
One of the biggest misconceptions about leadership is that you need a position or a title to lead. That’s not true.
Everyone is a leader—whether in their family, workplace, community, or within themselves. Leadership is about showing up, setting an example, and helping others rise.
So ask yourself:
- Are you inspiring those around you?
- Are you creating a culture where people feel valued, seen, and heard?
- Are you leading with purpose, recognition, inspiration, compassion, and education?
If not, today is the best day to start. Lead where you are with what you have, and watch how it transforms the world around you.
Final Thoughts
I am deeply grateful to Rehrig Pacific Company for the opportunity to speak, share my journey, and fulfill my purpose of helping people become better leaders. To everyone reading this—never underestimate the power of your influence.
You don’t have to wait for permission to lead. Start today. Step into your purpose, inspire change, and create a culture where others thrive.
And if you’re interested in learning more about The Leader’s P.R.I.C.E., stay tuned for my upcoming book and leadership training program. This movement is just beginning, and I’m excited to see how far it will go.
Lead with purpose. Inspire change. Empower others. That’s what leadership is all about.
